coming to a computer near you soon

Adobe CS6

One of my favorite times of the year is NAB. While I haven't been there in a few years, you can pretty much learn what you need to from the internet and blogs like mine are no exception. Every year I plan to go to NAB and every year I have a major project that keeps me from attending (no complaints at the end of the day)

Why everyone is (will be) switching!

Adobe CS6

Thankfully (well... this depends upon who you ask) Apple dropped their Final Cut ball and Adobe swooped in to save the day. Now, I've only used FCP a little, mostly cuz I'm PC based and FCP never made a windows version.

Can they win back market share?

Avid Media Composer 6

I can't remember the last time I turned on my Avid Media Composer (and I have two of them BTW).  I really can't.  What I do remember is exporting video to use with Adobe Production Premium CS5.5. I've even rebuilt projects (at no cost to my customers) just because I could now use them to greater efficiency within the CS5 Production Premium suite.

So I am interested to see how Avid can re-earn my business. A few weeks ago Avid unveiled their soon-to-be-released latest version: Media Composer 6. And it's purported to be 64 bit... YAY!

Compact, Smooth and the Price is right!

Vinten Vision Blue Tripod System
I was in need of a new tripod... my ancient Miller 30 Series 2 was just about out of steam, not too mention I could hardly find any info on the Miller website about it. And it wasnt as smooth as it once was. And too big for travel. So I had a plan to get either a Sachtler or Cartoni or something... and knew I'd be paying over 5k.
